Come Join Us
There are plenty of opportunities to join us, whether it's for regular outdoor Forest School sessions or making willow lanterns indoors, we welcome the opportunity to work with everyone in our community.
Volunteer Days at Rutland Farm Park
Join us on a Wednesday (1 - 4pm) - at the allotment and/or woodland areas in Oakham. Be prepared for the weather and mud. We will have spare wellies to borrow. Get in touch if you are keen to join us.
It is apple harvest time! We will be pressing apples at Oakham Castle - bring your own apples and bottles, try your hand at pressing and taste fresh apple juice!

Grubs Up - Family Cooking Sessions
Root–and-Branch Out CIC have been awarded some funding from the Healthy Rutland Grant, to run cookery courses for families! The course and all ingredients are FREE!
We love being outside, growing and foraging food, so we will also use locally grown food from our growing projects with Uppingham C of E Primary, Leighfield Academy and Uppingham Grows. Home cooked food is the best and that cookery skills are important for our children’s futures.
This course will support you to gain new skills, friends and knowledge about food. Once we’ve made our food, we can share it altogether. We will learn about nutrition and portion size too, to keep us healthy! We will be using food from our local market and shops to make sure that we can support our local town. We will also use food grown in our town by school groups or on allotments, so we can see it come from the plot to the pot!
