Community Fridge Staff
Job role: Community Fridge Staff - hosting the fridge session for public opening times alongside a volunteer.

Location: Greetham Church and/or Victoria Hall Oakham and other Rutland Community Fridges as required.
Days and times: Fridges will be open as follows:
Oakham - Friday mornings
Uppingham - Friday afternoons
Greetham - Saturday morning
Victoria Hall- Wednesday evening
Hours of work: Expected hours to be one or two sessions a month approx 4 hours each session.
Commitment expected: To be on a rota and to work a session or two a month, throughout the year according to the dates agreed by our partners.

Job description - Main duties The Fridge Staff will:
Person specification
We aim to recruit someone who:
- Be part of the rota to run the Community Fridge on the day it's running alongside a volunteer.
- Set up and run the Community Fridge opening times, serve customers and then tidy and deal with any left over food at end of session in the most creative way possible ! This might mean liaising with other fridges.
- Have an understanding of policies and procedures, including risk assessments.
- To potentially use own car to collect surplus food from shops, cafes, supermarkets locally to take to the fridge.
- To sort food given to us from our shop partners and to ensure it is fit for consumption.
- Promote volunteering (internally and externally) through recruitment and publicity strategies and campaigns.
- Undertake Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, references and DBS checks where appropriate.
- To undertake induction training including Safeguarding training.
- Monitor, support, and motivate volunteers and listen to feedback from them.
- Ooffer advice and information to volunteers and external organisations through face-to-face, phone, Whatsapp and email contact.
- Collect data of all surplus food saved from landfill and report to Community Fridge Co-Ordinator.
- Promote good working relationships between volunteers and service users, and be prepared to undertake conflict resolution.
- Be prepared to undertake further training if required.

- Has experience of and an enjoyment of working with people from a range of backgrounds
- Is able to follow organisational ethos, policies and procedures
- Demonstrates good communication skills, is friendly and polite and able enthuse and motivate others
- Has good planning and organisational skills and able to work to deadlines
- Is proactive at prioritising, problem solving and getting things done
- Has access to own transport to reach the Rutland Community Fridges
- Is able to use judgement and intellect to work on own initiative
- Is Friendly and polite with excellent people skills and a sense of humour
- Is a team player with a willingness to work cooperatively and collaboratively
- Is a fun, warm, caring person.
