PART 1 Things we do
It has been a year full of interesting places and experiences! We would like to hear your thoughts on the Living Curriculum at Lerntree.

1/ What are some of your favourite parts of the year?

Exploring local woodlands and nature reserves > Priors Coppice, Burghley House grounds, Lyndon Nature Reserve where we found the bones, and various places around Rutland Water. Barnsdale in the rain, Whitwell in the sun and Hambleton Peninsular in the snow! *

Places-of-interest we have investigated > Ketton Quarry, Melton Market, Launde Abbey, and Oakham Canal (in the day). *

Out of hours > Visiting the Oakham Canal for the evening bat walk with Max and Paul. And camping. *

Repeat visits to > Hills and Holes, Apple Wood where we had the Easter egg hunt, and Gorse Hill for Jaspers ‘sunrise walk’. *

Arranged visits to > Oakham Fire Station, Stone Masons, Ben Burgess, Halstead Hill Farm, Hambleton Bakery, Whissendine windmill, and Eyebrook Farm. *

Hands on, learning a new skill > Sailing at Rutland Sailing School, and making pizza at Stamford Pizza Express. *

Visitors we have welcomed to Growers Row to share their knowledge with us > Max with his bone collection, Steve with First Aid workshop. Erika from Pinder’s Circus, Matt for giant Go-kart building, and Rutland Morris for a dance workshop. *

Other > Friendships, tree climbing, stick fighting, coppicing, having a fire, cooking outdoors, tyre rolling, playing games. *
